K2

Quarter 4

The Quarter K has been designed as a short course for those of you looking for a challenging short course event or who are wanting to get a taste of what the K2 is all about.

The Quarter K covers the final stage of the K2 and this years event starts in Coromandel and finishes in Thames, a distance of 53km.

The race includes two category climbs close to the start, the Manaia Hill and the Kereta and concludes with a ride along the stunning Puhutakawa coastline into Thames.

The race starts at 9.30am from Coromandel town.

Preparation


This ride is likely to take between 2 and 3 hours so your training should include some longer rides of at least 2 hours. It also has a couple of significant hills on the course so be sure to get some training in on some hills.

This event will be open to individual and tandem riders.

o Masters (35-44)
o Vets (45-54)
o Classic (55-64)
o Vintage (65+)

Prizes


Prizes will be awarded to the winners in each category.


Transport

Transport will be available early on Saturday morning to take competitors from Thames to the start in Coromandel. Bikes will need to be left the evening before at the registration area in Coromandel.
