RAIDERS OF THE LAST ARC
In 2020, we are offering the following races;
24 Hour
- Premier Challenge- with kayaking
16 Hour
- Schools Challenge
- Open Challenge – with kayaking
- Open Challenge – with alternate water activity
8 Hour
- Cure Kids Challenge
- Schools Challenge
- Open Challenge
Each of the above races can be completed with or without a support crew.
This will likely be our last crusade, but we do intend to hand over the ARC mantel to some caring hands and hope that the event will run for another twenty years. So please do come and join us and help us celebrate this special milestone.
24 Hour Premier Challenge - With Kayaking
The 24 Hour Premier Challenge is for teams of 4 or 2 of any mix.
Core stages will include Kayaking, Trekking and Mountain Biking and there will be up to two stages in each discipline.
Each stage will be a rogaine in its own right and will have its own cut off- time.
Checkpoints will be allocated points of between 1 and 10 and there will be a total of 240 points available for the race. There will be heavy point penalties for missing the cut off times on each stage.
There will be a small points handicap for the type of kayaks used. This will be notified closer to the event.
The race will start at 8.00am on Saturday morning and finish at 8.00am on Sunday morning.
Team categories are as follows;
Teams of 4
- Premier – Mixed team of 4
- Womens Fours
- Mens Fours
Teams of 2
- Mixed Pairs
- Womens Pairs
- Mens Pairs
Competitors must be 18 years old or older.
The price of entry is $350 per person for a team of 4 and $375 per person for a team of 2. There are early bird reductions available
No support crews are required or allowed for the 24 hour event.
16 Hour Challenge
There are 3 events within the 16-hour challenge as follows:
- Schools Challenge
- Open Challenge – with kayaking
- Open Challenge – with alternate water activity
16 Hour - Schools Challenge
This is for school teams of 4. All team members must attend the same school and be 16 years of age or older.
Core stages will include Trekking and Mountain Biking and there will be up to two stages in each discipline. There will also be a water activity.

Each stage will be a rogaine in its own right and will have its own cut off- time.

8 Hour - Cure Kids Challenge
This is a challenge for teams would like to raise monies for the Cure Kids Charity.
There are two levels:
The Corporate Challenge
This is open for mixed teams of 4 with at least 3 of the team working for the same organisation. Each team is given a minimum target of $5,000 to raise for the Cure Kids Charity.
There are two key prizes for this category;
- The team with the highest score in the event will win the Cure Kids Challenge Trophy
- The team that raises the highest level of sponsorship will win a special prize
The Social Challenge
This is open for teams of 2, 3 or 4 persons of any mix. Each team is given a minimum target of $2,000 to raise for the Cure Kids Category.
There are two key prizes in this category;
- The team with the highest score in the event will win the Cure Kids Social Trophy
- The team that raises the highest level of sponsorship will win a special prize
The Race
Activities include mountain biking, trekking, mine exploration, water activities, navigation and special mystery activities.
Competitors race together as a team and all team members must finish the event.
Teams are allowed a support crew or may opt to race unsupported.
The price of entry is set at $250 per person early entry reductions available.
The race will start at 10.0am on Saturday morning and finish at 6.00pm.
No support crews are required for any of the 8-hour events but are allowed.
Prize Giving for the 8 Hour Cure Kids Challenges will be at 7.30pm on Saturday evening.
8 Hour - Schools Challenge
This is for School teams of 2,3 or 4 people. All team members must attend the same school and be 14 years of age or older.
Core stages will include Trekking and Mountain Biking and there will be up to two stages in each discipline. There will also be a water activity.
Each stage will be a rogaine in its own right and will have its own cut off- time.
Checkpoints will be allocated points of between 1 and 10 and there will be a total of 80 points available for the race. There will be heavy point penalties for missing the cut off times on each stage.
The race will start at 10.00am on Saturday morning and finish at 6.00pm on Saturday evening.
The price of entry is $110 per person with early entry reductions available.
Competitors must be 14 years of age or older.
8 Hour - Open Challenge
This is for teams of 2, 3 or 4 people.
